Annuals for Cemetery Graves
5/15/02

Many cemeteries have rules governing the placement of shrubs and flowers at grave-sites, but there are little if any reservations about your planting the following annuals. We suggest you consider the following annuals for annual placement at gravesites, taking advantage of their flowering cycles:

Ageratum (floss flower); grows best in full sun; flowers July thru October.

Alyssum (sweet alyssum); grows best in full sun, some partial shade; flowers July thru October.

Annual phlox; grows best in full sun, flowers July thru September.

Antirrhiinum (Snapdragon); grows best in full sun, some partial shade; flowers July thru October.

Candytuft; grows best in full sun, some partial shade; flowers June thru October.

Cynoglossum (Summer-forget-me-not); grows best in full sun, some partial shade; flowers June thru August.

Dianthus (carnations and pinks); grows best in sun; flowers July thru October.

Erysimum (Fairy Wallflower); grows best in full sun; flowers August thru October.

Mignonette (Reseda); grows best in full sun; flowers July thru October.

Petunia; grows best in full sun, also takes partial shade; flowers July thru October.
