Ever have a hard time making the right purchase, especially with garden supplies? We can’t tell how often we’ve been stung, but the mistakes are getting fewer each passing year. Wisdom seems to be a hallmark that’s kept us on the straight path, making the right decisions time and time again! This brings us to the topic at hand: the best garden sprinkler ever! We discovered this oscillating sprinkler in the past two years. We were so thrilled with its performance that we immediately went out and bought a second one. These two sprinklers will last until we’re 10 foot under and pushing up daisies.
The sprinkler is made by Gilmour in Pennsylvania. This oscillating sprinkler is the only one you’ll need for irrigating lawns, shrubs, flower beds, groundcovers, vegetables, shrubs, trees, herbs and window boxes. There are few plastic parts because the sprinkler is fabricated of zinc. It will last a lifetime if you don’t back over it with the car.
We have the original box in front of us, so let us share the product information with you. It’s a Gilmour oscillating sprayer for medium size lawns (55 by 66 feet, or 3,600 square feet). To adjust sprinkling, you move two black plastic levers on top of the sprinkler. The sealed water motor needs no maintenance.
While we applaud Gilmour for a truly outstanding sprinkler, we can’t say the same for other companies. We bought two plastic oscillating sprinklers manufactured by Nelson four years ago, and they were inoperative within a year of the purchase. Forget plastic oscillating sprinklers no matter who makes them, even if they’re free. Invest in this zinc-oscillating sprinkler from Gilmour and you’ll be glad we told you!
Oh yes, it’s inexpensive, around $24-$27.
